Using your old OpenFeint account on your new device


OpenFeint created an account for you on your new device, but you’d like to use your old account.  If you’ve enabled account retrieval on your account, this is easy to do. [How do I check to see if my account is secured?]

Download and install the OpenFeint stand alone application from the App Store (it’s free).  If you’ve already downloaded it, skip to the next section

1.    Start up the OpenFeint application and click “Enable OpenFeint”
2.    Click “I want to use another account”
3.    Enter the email address and password associated with your old account.  Click “Submit” and it should find your original OpenFeint account.
4.    If you get the message “Oops! There was a problem: Your OpenFeint account was not found or the credentials you provided were invalid.” then it’s likely that you never enabled account retrieval. [What do I do now?]

If you already have the OpenFeint stand-alone application on your device, go through the following steps:

1.    Click the icon that looks like a person.
2.    Click “Edit Profile”
3.    Then click “Switch Account”
4.    You’ll see one of these screens, depending on whether or not there is more than one account on your device.  If the account you want is listed, just click on it and you’ll be logged in under that account.  If not, click “I want to use a different account”.
5.    Enter the email address and password associated with your old account.  Click “Submit” and it should find your original OpenFeint account.
6.    If you get the message “Oops! There was a problem: Your OpenFeint account was not found or the credentials you provided were invalid.” then it’s likely that you never enabled account retrieval. [What do I do now?]

I didn't enable account retrieval, now what do I do?

If you still have your old device handy, go here to set up account retrieval.  If you don’t, you’ll need to contact us and we may be able to migrate your account to your new device.  Click on “Ask A Question” at the top of this page and then select “I picked up a new device but did not enable account retrieval”.
